In this talk, we will hear about ways to help process and heal from grief through the use of ritual, altar building, connection to the natural world, and creative expression. Includes visual examples of projects, performances and rituals to help inspire your imagination. Q & A and moderated discussion to follow, to help audience members identify ways they might apply these principles and techniques in their daily lives.
About the presenter: Angela Apodaca is one of Florence Regional Arts Alliance’s “Big Wave” poets, as well as a writer, playwright and performer. She’s worked with Milagro Theater in Portland, OR, as well as within the Siuslaw region. She has spent the past year working with others learning methods of creative expression for grief and loss, as well as drawing from her cultural heritage and personal wisdom.
