It’s time for the Safe Shelter for Siuslaw Students annual clothes giveaway and swap! This event is intended for ALL families with students and youth of the Siuslaw Region, including homeschool families and students of the Siuslaw and Mapleton School Districts. The event will include kids’ activities, snacks, and resources for families. Representatives from Shore Pines Apartments will be on site to provide info on how to get on their list for new 3-bedroom apartments! See Housing Info event for more details.
Safe Shelter for Siuslaw Students serves families with students in our region with “diversion services” or assistance to ‘divert’ them from homelessness. We are also recruiting for host homes to keep students in the area and attending school while their guardians find stable housing. We are working towards developing crisis housing either transitional or emergency shelter for youth and families with students.
