PFLAG Hosts GSA Speaker
PFLAG Florence will be hearing from the Siuslaw High School’s faculty advisor for the GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance) during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday, June 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Florence United Methodist Church.
Jaculin Johnson, who has worked with the GSA for the last few years, will outline what activities the students have sponsored and how the organization has assisted students and the community in better understanding their diversity.
Refreshments will be served. The meeting is free and open to the public. Florence United Methodist Church is located at the corner of Kingwood and Second Street, one block west of Hwy 101, in Florence.
PFLAG-Florence is an affiliate of a national organization with more than 350 chapters and 200,000 members and supporters across the United States. PFLAG is the country’s largest organization for parents, families, friends, and straight allies united with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT).
